Successful businesses are incorporating social media marketing (SMM) at every stage of their sales funnel, if you’re not, you should be. The first and most important aspect of SMM in your sales funnel has to do with your website blog, this should be connected to all of the various social media channels such as Twitter (my favorite), Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+ and so forth, dependent on your particular niches and your target audiences interest for a particular social media channel.

Incorporate Social Media Marketing into Every Stage of Your Sales Funnel Let me try and expand on this a little, as an avid writer I product a lot of content for our website blog, this is our main source of content marketing. As each article is published it is also automatically promoted across my social media channels, on each blog post I include the tools that allow people to share this content across their own social media channels as well as subscribing to my own as well as my email newsletter. Going one step further and because I am particularly fond of Twitter, my system is setup to automatically send a tweet out every 30 minutes about one of our past articles, this means that 48 tweets are sent each day automatically, each one helping to promote this content. Hopefully you have something similar set up and working for you.

No matter which type of social media you’re active with, it assists with every aspect below:

Social Media Marketing Builds Awareness

Using social media marketing is a great way to bring awareness to your brand. You can use a multitude of different ways to do this, from posting more updates to buying an advertisement or promoting a Facebook post.

Social Media Marketing Builds Community

Social media is a great way to bring a community feel to your brand, this can work before a purchase as well as after a purchase. Bringing your buyers together, or group members together, forms a community that can advocate for your brand to others. Thus, increasing sales.

Social Media Marketing Builds Engagement

Using social media to engage and interact with others is a great way to improve sales. The engagement with the audience is something that everyone sees; customers and future customers. The interaction that is observed will influence others when choosing to do business with you and the best tip of all, is simply to be yourself as that will build the best type of engagement.

Social Media Marketing Builds Influence

Social media can act as a way to prove and demonstrate your influence and authority. The number of followers or likes that you have, as well as the amount of interactions that you have on your social media accounts, will help build trust faster. This then encourages sign-ups for newsletters and in turn purchases and sales.

Social Media Marketing Builds Leads

Social media makes it easier than ever to get more leads for your businesses products, services and ideas. It also makes it easier to covert those leads to buyers because of the interaction that you can have over a long term basis. Once you make a connection with a potential buyer and they connect with you in a trusting manner, it’s that much easier to move toward Social Media Marketing conversion.

Social Media Allows You to Nurture

Social media enables you to nurture new relationships as well as old ones. Whether someone is just a prospect or an actual customer, using social media to communicate, stay connected and answer questions is a great way to improve relations and remember the person you connect with on social media might in turn act as a source of referrals in the future, so don’t overlook this.

Social Media Marketing Builds Conversion

Having an active social media marketing campaigns at every level of your sales funnel, from initial lead capture through to sales and after, improves conversions exponentially.

Social Media Marketing Builds Loyalty

Social media can enable you to create a loyal following of customers who will sing your praises to those who have not become converts yet. The more you have, the more you’ll get. Plus, you can keep the relationship going, thus keeping customers that much more loyal and there is nothing like having customers make sales to prospects for you, it truly is the ultimate aim in my opinion.

As you can see, no matter where someone is in your sales funnel, social media marketing should play an integral part in capturing leads, all the way through to encouraging multiple purchases from converted customers.
