fx digital web mail

As an FX Digital client you can access your email either via Webmail or via your local computer. Webmail is simply the ability to access your mail account on an internet browser, as opposed to viewing through an email program. Programs such as Microsoft Outlook or Mozilla Thunderbird are examples of mailing programs that are used to access your account from your own personal computer. Whereas websites such as Gmail or Hotmail are examples of webmail; giving you the ability to check your email account from any computer, anywhere in the world.

These two forms of accessing your email are exactly the same as each other, except that one is on your computer, and the other is on the internet.

To progress through the tutorial, simply use the tabs below to navigate through the steps.

Step One
webmail log in

Firstly we are going to head to our mail server. To find this, go to your web browser (ie: Internet Explorer) and type in: http://mail.fx-digital.com.au into your address bar. You should then see a screen like figure 1:

This screen will require you to input your email address and your password. The language drop down menu should be left at "Use Browser Language" and if you wish your computer to remember your password, tick the "Remember me" box, though if you are using a computer with others, ticking this box is not recommended. Click Login to proceed.

Please note that when using a public computer (such as in an internet cafe or library) it is public and that others will be using the computer. It is vital that whenever you are finished viewing your webmail that you:

ALWAYS LOG OUT

This is so that others cannot view your emails.

If you have already logged in before, proceed to Step Two
For some of our users, if you have yet to log in to your Webmail account you will receive a timezone selection screen once you have logged in. This only happens once, and requires you to enter the timezone relevant to your location. This is so that your emails can be time-stamped with the correct time, given your location.

To edit the properties of your account, you will need to access the 'Settings' section. This is reached by holding your mouse over the 'Settings' tab and clicking on 'My Settings'. (See figure 4.)

From the settings page, the first tab you are brought to is the 'Mailbox' which is highlighted in blue (see figure 5.) From here you are able to edit attributes such as your current password, your display name, and your time zone. Clicking on the 'Webmail' tab (located next to the 'Mailbox' tab, will allow you to edit how your messages are sorted, as well as how these messages are displayed. These settings are fine for now and should be left as they are.

The tab following this, 'Compose' is the only other tab you really need to worry about, and this controls how your emails are formatted, such as font, colour and style. You can also create your signature here, which will appear on the bottom of each email that you send.
Step Five
webmail help

Finally, if you are still stuck and need help with any aspect of mailing program, you can try the 'Help' tab. Within this tab you can look for 'Help Topics' covering all aspects of the mailing program. Clicking on this button will provide a glossary of common help topics as well as a search option.

So that's the basic operation of Webmail and its features. Remember if you are accessing your Webmail from a public computer to ensure that you:
